What a high-fidelity log is, and how to ask your partners for one

Every platform you buy through keeps a record of what it did with your money. The only question is how much of that record you receive. This page defines the tiers, what each tier lets the read see, and the exact ask that moves a partner up a tier.

The fidelity ladder

TierWhat you receiveWhat the read can price at this tier
T1 · summariesPlatform dashboard exports: spend, installs, conversions by campaign, daily or weekly.Channel-level only, blended. Enough to rank channels against each other, nothing inside them. Wide bands.
T2 · aggregatesDaily breakdowns by segment, audience, placement, or geography, from the reporting API.Segment and geography pricing. This is where the blocked-state question gets answered and where the first cut-and-fund reads come from.
T3 · event levelRow-per-impression or row-per-event delivery logs with timestamps, IDs, placement, and clearing price.Supply-path and placement pricing, deduplication across partners, and materially tighter bands. This is the tier the marginal-dollar read wants.
T4 · decision levelEverything in T3 plus why: bid factors, segments applied at decision time, fees and services itemized. The full decomposition, including what each added service costs against what it contributes. The tier where the ten-to-thirty-cents-per-dollar question becomes answerable.
The principleYou are paying for the media either way. The log is part of the product, and partners who are confident in their buying are rarely shy about showing the record of it.

Where partners usually sit

Typical starting positions, to be confirmed per contract: the large desktop DSPs offer event-level delivery logs to advertisers who ask, and some make the grant a standard account feature. Attribution platforms offer raw event exports delivered to a bucket you control. The large social platforms provide rich aggregates but not row-level delivery logs, so T2 is the honest ceiling there today. Mobile-focused DSPs vary the most, and several report only summaries by default. That variation is not a wall; it is the negotiation, and the ask below is how it starts.

The ask, ready to paste

To a partner, three sentencesWe are consolidating measurement across our media partners, and we need delivery data at the event level: one row per impression or event, with timestamp, placement, clearing price, and any segments or services applied, delivered daily to a bucket we control. Please tell us which of these fields you can provide today, and which require a different account tier or agreement. Partners able to provide fuller delivery data will be easier for us to fund with confidence.

That last sentence is the lever. It is polite, true, and it re-prices opacity.

What we do with your partner list

Send the list of platforms you buy through, and we return it marked: the tier each partner sits at today, the tier the read wants, and the exact ask for each gap. That takes us a day and costs you nothing but the list.
